Deep Oscillation Therapy

The special structure of DEEP OSCILLATION® allows the creation of biologically effective oscillations in the treated tissue using electrostatic attraction and friction. In contrast to other therapies, these pleasant oscillations have a gentle and deep-acting effect on all tissue components to an 8 cm depth (through skin, connective tissue, subcutaneous fat, muscles, blood and lymph vessels).

Because of the non-invasive, non-traumatic, gentle nature of this therapy, very early possibilities of application are possible following injury and from Day One post operatively. Chronic conditions can also be worked upon with effective results.

Photobiomodulation (laser) therapy

Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a non thermal, method of stimulating cells thus reducing inflammation. After PBM  the cells have increased metabolism and can survive stressful conditions better. Overall, it encourages the rapid healing of tissues, nerves, tendons, ligaments, muscle, bone and wounds. It has a positive effect on scar tissue (even old scarring) and allows nutrients to be absorbed rapidly, thus softening fibrotic tissue.

  • reduces pain, swelling and inflammation as well as heals wounds.

  • has a stimulating effect on macrophage production to encourage the reduction of oedema.

  • Itheeffects are cumulative, which allows for long term healing.

Kinesiotaping & Cupping

When you think of a massage, you probably picture a therapist pushing down on your skin. While that traditional "positive pressure" can feel great, it can sometimes compress sensitive, swollen, or painful tissues.

Cupping offers the opposite, negative pressure, to gently lift the skin and underlying tissues upward. Think of it as creating "breathing room" inside your body. By lifting the tissue, it irelieves pressure, boosts circulation, and activates your body’s natural healing process.

iKinesiotape's patterned application of glue means that, when applied, it lifts the skin slightly to allow drainage of congestive fluids away from a swollen or painful site. This reduces swelling, inflammation, pain and also acts as a support for weak or injured joints or limbs.

It is water resistant up to 5 days and so can be worn in the shower, bath or during wet activities such as swimming. As it is so thin it is very comfortable to wear.

It is especially useful for applying to

  • Breast & Abdominal Oedema

  • Painful & inflammed Joints

  • Injured limbs/joints

  • Scar Tissue

  • Post Operative Procedures

  • Bruising

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is the application of slow gentle, highly specialised hand movements which have a stimulating effect on the flow of lymph fluid.

Rhythmic pumping and draining movements and deep breathing techniques encourage lymph fluid to be systematically and thoroughly stimulated. MLD is deeply relaxing for the body as it unblocks congested areas of fluid thereby reducing areas of swelling, inflammation and pain.

A healthy lymphatic system is essential for immune function, if it is congested or damaged, the body's immune responses are impaired. A healthy lymph system allows the body to effectively fight infection & viruses and absorb nutrients.

MLD is excellent as a preventative health treatment as well as to stabilise and maintain good health.

MLD is used to help

  • Lymphoedema (primary & secondary following mastectomy, prostate surgery, irradiation, head and neck etc)

  • Lipoedema

  • Post surgical oedema, (Joint replacement, caesarean section, hysterectomy, vaser lipo, liposuction, abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, blepharoplasty etc)

  • Cellulite

  • Joint inflammation

  • Psoriatic arthritis

  • General fluid retention/ puffiness

  • Scar tissue

  • Tinnitus

  • Headaches and migraine

  • Bloatedness

  • Osteo arthritis / rheumatism

  • Detox

  • Skin problems such as ezcema, acnea rosacea, psoriasis

  • Healing after cosmetic surgery

  • Burns

RESTORE Scar Therapy

As a RESTORE Scar Therapy Practitioner I can support you to achieve the optimum recovery of scars from 8 weeks after surgery.  And, these techniques are also highly effective on older scars too!

Whether from surgery, an accident, or a C-section, scars can become tight, hard, and painful. as the new skin fibres heal in a messy, tangled clump that sticks to the tissue beneath it.

Traditional massage just flattens a scar. but scar therapy techniques, including cupping, lift and stretches the scar in multiple directions at once.  Additionally, I use modern medical technology - Deep Oscillation Therapy as well as specific rich oils or creams on scars which feed the skin and prevent them from drying out. This gentle pulling breaks up the tangled fibres ungluing the scar from the underlying tissue, encouraging the scar to  become softer, flatter, more flexible, and much less noticeable.
